Ottawa Transit is working to keep rider disruption to a minimum amidst the current Confederation Line maintenance work.

In an OC Transpo memo, general manager Renée Amilcar said they are working with City partners to implement additional mitigation measures, including activating the Traffic Incident Management Group to ensure effective and efficient co-ordination of traffic impacts and traffic light optimization to prioritize buses.

Detailed R1 routing plans have also been co-ordinated with traffic management to ensure city wide awareness of service adjustments.

Additionally, the Ottawa Police Services (OPS) will provide support to assist eastbound R1 operators making the left turn from Laurier to Bay Street.

The maintenance work on O-Train Line 1 is scheduled from Aug. 12 until Thursday, Aug. 25.
