One person injured following Gatineau shed fires

A person sustained minor injuries in a shed fire that happened in the southwest end of Gatineau.

According to Gatineau Fire Services (GFS), firefighters were called to 21 Impasse du Canotage and 22 rue Xavier at about 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24 after receiving reports of a fire.

Crews say the blaze started in a shed that spread to another shed.

The fire also caused damage to the exterior siding of two residences and seven people needed to be evacuated.

A citizen had tried to extinguish the fire but had sustained minor injuries to his hands.

He did not need to go to hospital for treatment.

The fire was under control by 4:30 p.m.

A fire investigator estimates that there are $35,000 in damages.
