One person is dead, another seriously injured in Barrhaven homicide

A 64-year old woman is dead and a 66-year-old man has serious injuries after an incident Sunday night in Barrhaven.

Ottawa police say they responded to a home on Sherway Drive around 9:30 p.m., after receiving a 911 call.

Officers and emergency responders found the two victims when they arrived at the address.

Nearby homes had to be evacuated while officials searched for suspects.

Police arrested a man at 1:45 a.m. on Monday, November 15.

He is expected to appear in court later in the day.
