One person suffers burns in Orleans fire

One female suffered burns in the fire, and was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.

One person has been injured in a fire in Orleans. 

Around 7:20 p.m., crews responded to a 911 call reporting smoke and flames in the kitchen at 582 Chenier Way.

Crews confirmed heavy flames on the first floor of the home. 

The fire was under control just after 8 p.m.  

One female suffered burns in the fire, and was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital. 

There is no word on what caused the fire, or a damage estimate.
