The Ontario Provincial Police have now opened a homicide investigation after finding the body of 26-year-old Emilie Maheu.
Around 11:30 Saturday morning, police responded to a report of a body being discovered in South Glengarry Township.
Officers later confirmed the body was that of Emilie.
Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to a residence on County Road 34 in South Glengarry October 11, and said Emilie Maheu was last seen in Alexandria at 1 p.m.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted later this week at Ottawa General Hospital.
