The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a collision in Pembroke.

On Sept. 15, just before 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a collision on Pembroke Street West involving two school buses and a passenger vehicle. The initial investigation showed that a school bus was stopped eastbound at a red light with the passenger vehicle behind, when a second school bus full of children struck the rear of the passenger vehicle, causing it to strike the rear of the first bus.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries. Children on board the bus were also assessed and treated for very minor injuries at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
