Ottawa Fire Services rescue boaters following smoke on the water

Ottawa Firefighters responded to calls reporting a boat in distress on the water near Crystal Bay Sunday morning.
9-1-1 callers reported smoke coming from the boat and the occupants waving a red flag, requesting assistance.
Fire Services dispatched Water Rescue boats to 1 Nesbitt St. to investigate the incident.
Crews assisted the boaters, taking them to safety.
Gatineau Fire Services assisted Ottawa in the rescue.
Upon investigating, firefighters state there was no fire on the boat. Adding that the boat had broken down.
No injuries were reported.
