Ottawa Humane Society looking for owners of injured puppy, hit by car

The Ottawa Humane Society is asking for the public's help in finding the owners of a dog that was hit by a car.

Officials say the incident happened last Friday, November 9. The young female Rottweiler-cross was picked up by a resident on Heron Road near Mooney's Bay.

She was admitted to the Alta Vista animal hospital and transferred to the OHS the next day.

Ottawa Humane Society veterinarians are providing care, but the dog is severely injured and may not pull through.

“This is a young, sweet dog,” said OHS CEO Bruce Roney. “We would really like to reunite her with her family, but with no identification and no lost report, we have been unable to locate her owners.”

The owners or anyone having information about the owners should contact the OHS Lost and Found Department at 613-725-9998 or intake@ottawahumane.ca.
