Rolland Cright is thankful he double-checked his Encore numbers after originally deleting an email that told him he had won $100,000.

The Ottawa man matched the last six of seven numbers in exact order in the August 14, Lotto 6/49 draw to win.

"I checked my email and thought it was a scam, so I ignored it and deleted it," he laughed. "I thought man, these scams are getting out of hand!"

Cright, a father of two, plans to invest and go on vacation with his winnings.

"I wasn't expecting this," he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.
