Ottawa Public Health reporting slight decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is reporting a decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations on Friday Dec 2.
In its latest update, which is now released every Tuesday and Friday, the health unit is reporting 17 people in hospital with COVID-19, with four people in intensive care units (ICUs) because the virus. OPH is also reporting two new COVID-19 related deaths.
In its last update on Nov. 29, OPH reported 18 COVID-19 hospitalizations along with four people in ICUs and three COVID-19 related deaths.
There are 154 new COVID-19 cases reported since the last OPH update, and five new outbreak in institutional settings.
Meanwhile, OPH is warning that levels of respiratory viruses circulating in the community “remain high”.
In its weekly COVID-19 snapshot, which is now its respiratory virus snapshot OPH stated the wastewater viral signals show “moderate” levels of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and COVID-19, while the influenza levels are “high”.
