Ottawa Redblacks sign American defensive lineman Antonio Simmons

The Ottawa Redblacks have added a fresh face to the defensive line.

The team has signed American defensive lineman Antonio Simmons, the team announced on July 27.

The 25-year-old most recently appeared in three games with the Montreal Alouettes during the 2022 season. Before that, Simmons played for the Edmonton Elks in the 2021 campaign after he was traded by Montreal in his original stint with the team.

So far, Simmons has appeared in 30 Canadian Football League (CFL) games, posting 63 tackles, six sacks, and a forced fumble.

The Florida-native played four years at Georgia Tech before being drafted to the CFL.
