Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has already received hundreds of calls from eligible residents looking to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment at one of the three pop-up clinics, set to open on Friday.
The booking system was launched on Monday for residents of seven Ottawa communities identified as being high-risk.
According to a tweet from Mayor Jim Watson, OPH got more than 1,000 calls without issue from residents looking to book their appointments.
Just got an update from @OttawaHealth, over 1000 calls received today and no issues with booking system. Will have a final number of booked vaccines soon.
Thanks to staff working the phones and residents for checking their eligibility before calling in! https://t.co/exA53y3IwW
