Pembroke resident charged with impaired driving

The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one man from Pembroke with impaired driving following a traffic stop in the city of Pembroke.
On Aug. 27, shortly after 2:30 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a moving violation. After speaking to the driver, a roadside screening device was utilized. The driver was then transported to detachment for further testing.
As a result Donald Garcia, 42, from Pembroke has been charged with operation while impaired.
The accused had their driver's licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Oct. 11.
