A Pembroke resident is facing several driving-related charges, including impaired driving, in an incident with Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers over the weekend.
On the evening of Jan. 20, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a stuck vehicle on Big Rock Lane in the North Algona-Wilberforce Township. As part of the investigation a roadside screening device was used, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of this investigation 41-year-old Leslie Ronald Davidson has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
- Operation while prohibited
- Novice driver - BAC above zero
The accused had their driver's licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Feb. 28, 2023.
