Police arrest 18-year-old wanted for murder

An 18-year-old wanted for second degree murder is in custody. 

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Jan. 25, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Renfrew County responded to a 9-1-1 call at a residence in the Township of Bonnechere Valley where one person was found dead. 

Police sought a warrant for the arrest of 18-year-old Trey Gagnon of Laurentian Valley Township for second-degree murder.

Gagnon has been located and arrested. 

The OPP said are no further risks to public safety.

Members of the community can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
