Police arrest two people in the Byward Market, seize gun and cocaine

The Ottawa Police Services (OPS) say two people were arrested overnight in the ByWard Market by officers on patrol.
OPS say the officers approached a vehicle with two people inside. They noticed the driver had what appeared to be a handgun on his leg.
Officers on patrol in the ByWard Market approached a vehicle with two occupants on board overnight. They noticed that the driver had what appeared to be a handgun on his leg. After refusing to exit the vehicle, the man was arrested. A loaded 9mm pistol and cocaine were seized.1/2

Police say the man was arrested after he refused to exit the vehicle. Police also allegedly seized a loaded 9mm pistol and cocaine.
A 22-year-old Gatineau man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested and charged.
They are scheduled to appear in court on Saturday, July 2.
