Police seek suspect in Bells Corners attempted armed robbery

The man asked the clerk for change, then once the register was open, he pulled a knife and asked for the contents.

Police are asking for help to identify a man in connection to an attempted armed robbery in Bells Corners earlier this month. 

Around 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 12, a man entered a retail store on Robertson Road, east of Highway 416, asked the clerk for change, then once the register was open, pulled a knife and asked for its contents. 

The clerk closed the cash register and yelled at the man to leave, and he fled the scene. 

There were no injuries. 

The man is described as:

  • white
  • in his 20's
  • approximately 5'10" 
  • thin to athletic build

The man was wearing:

  • black hooded jacket with red horizontal stripes
  • white and black flat brimmed baseball hat
  • beige and green camouflage style pants
  • white and black basketball shoes
