Gatineau Police are investigating after a dot attacked a two year old boy early Friday evening.

The boy was being taken home from a park by his mother, when the dog reportedly came out of nowhere and went straight for him while he was in his stroller.

Hugo Giroux suffered wounds to his lips, cheek, and arm, and needed stitches in each of those areas.

Gatineau bylaw requires potentially dangerous dogs to be on a leash. A dog deemed dangerous can also be euthanized and the owner could face a fine up to $4,000.

There's no word on what might happen to the dog.
