Rainfall warning ended for Ottawa-Gatineau

Up to 50 mm of rain fell Wednesday morning, and amounts up to 75 mm were possible.

Heavy rain dousing the capital caused minor flooding and water pooling on roads.

Environment Canada had issued a rainfall warning for Ottawa and Gatineau, as 40 to 50 mm of rain fell in the early morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Drivers were being urged to reduce their speed, and police were urging drivers to activate their full headlight system.

The rain tapered off, with the rain warning ending around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday.
