A boa constrictor may be slithering its way through west Ottawa.
Ottawa By-law has not confirmed that the snake is missing, but City Councillor Jeff Leiper has.
.Not found yet, unfortunately. I'm on vacation, but my staff are apparently fielding calls. I've put the following together as a quick update. If I hear that it's caught, we'll spread word! pic.twitter.com/1Xmju2iooS

In a Kijiji ad, under 'Lost & Found in Ottawa,' there is a picture of "Murphy" the boa.
His owner describes him as friendly and calm, saying, "If you see him, please don't be afraid. Call me."
Actually, if you see him, city officials are asking that you do not approach and call 311 instead.
We aware of unconfirmed reports of a boa constrictor allegedly at large in Kitchissippi Ward.

If you should see the snake, do not approach it and call 3-1-1. #ottcity #ottnews
Muphy was last seen at his home on Lanark Avenue on August 11, around 1 a.m. He's about 5 ft (1.5 m) long.
His owner says he has never been outside before.
