Sunny, but chilly weekend ahead: CityNews meteorologist

While there isn't any snowfall in the forecast for the weekend, sunny but frigid weather is expected for Ottawa, Smiths Falls and the Valley.

According to CityNews Meteorologist Jill Taylor, a mix of sun and cloud is expected for Saturday, along with a high near -11 C. Gusty winds out of the northwest are also expected.

The cold temperatures are slated to continue into Sunday with mainly sunny skies and a high around -11 C. The morning low on Sunday is expected to feel like -19 C.

It will start to warm up slightly heading into next week; a high of -8 C along with sun and cloud is expected for Monday, while Tuesday will share those conditions. The high for Tuesday is -6.

In the meantime, some flurries are expected throughout the day on Friday, along with gusty winds out of the west-northwest.
