Suspect wanted after Elgin Street business robbed twice

Police say one person was seriously injured in the second robbery.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is hoping members of the public can help identify a suspect in two Centretown area robberies. 

Both incidents happened at the same Elgin Street business, situated between Lisgar Street and Nepean Street. Police say the first happened around 3:30 p.m., on Saturday, January 8, and the second happened around 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, January 12. 

In both cases, the suspect fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say one person suffered serious injuries during the second robbery.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Black
  • English-speaking
  • Approximately 5' 7'' (170-175 cm) tall 
  • Between 18 and 22-years-old
  • Slim build 
  • Short black curly hair
  • Wearing a black baseball hat, a black jacket with a large collar and blue track pants
