Seems like the campaign is more to shame those who don't rather than promote those who do. Where would the world be without social media? pic.twitter.com/fJUbUlWvyh

But whatever you think of the Transit Challenge, and whether it will bring any real change to Ottawa transit, one thing is for sure — the councillors tweeted through it. We rounded up some of our favourites:
When you start in Stittsville, the transit challenge gives you some time to work on your photography.
Attempt to photograph the sunset along the Ottawa River through a slightly dirty bus window. #OttTransitChallenge nice that the sun is still out at this hour. pic.twitter.com/G3NwVJ6c77

Coun. Shawn Menard, one of the most vocal transit advocates on council, hopes that the transit challenge will get councillors to hop on the bus more often.
The transit challenge brought councillors directly to some of the most frustrating and impactful problems that transit riders face every day.As we get close to the end of the #OttTransitChallenge I hope: 1) Councillors choose to keep taking the bus. I will be more often. 2) We take action to reverse the trends in ridership, since 2011 8 million rides have been lost. 3) We take action to REDUCE fares. @freetransitott

It is hard, but deeply necessary, to drink coffee on the morning bus.The 94 Riverview was at least 20 minutes late and a mom with a stroller gave up and went home. When the bus did arrive, it was packed. I have taken this route many times before and experienced similar situations. #OttTransitChallenge pic.twitter.com/YHaVRb0eBx

There were selfies taken. So many selfies.Today’s commute involved an early morning #63, too much stuff to lug to the office, and the awkward balance of needing to drink that first coffee and struggling to do so on the bus. However great to see the sidewalks weren’t as icy as I thought! #OttTransitChallenge #KanataNorth pic.twitter.com/76qzJ2EHK8

Not the most flattering photo but end of the day. Getting out of city Hall and headed home. #otttransitchallenge pic.twitter.com/aJikJwKuYR

Sandra and I on our way to the Byward Market and Sparks Street for @Winterlude on this beautiful winter day . The bus is very full. Some shelters have a thick coat of ice in them. #OttTransitChallenge pic.twitter.com/7z5cDyuBiY

Others learned the hard way, that riding the bus is largely about preparation — and one councillor was made a bit late as a result.DAY5:#OttTransitChallenge - ok, cold tonight. Grabbed 224 at 611pm and now home getting warm. #ottnews ☑️Day1☑️Day2☑️Day3☑️Day4☑️Day5 pic.twitter.com/YXHj3q8Ddy

And some found time for friends. This is reality. Fell asleep before I planned my bus route for today. (big mistake) Need to get to the Humane Society on West Hunt Club for ten. I should have been up and out by 7.30 am. First route takes almost two hours. I am learning.

On the #64 home today. Little earlier than yesterday and the bus isn’t nearly as full as we leave downtown. Added bonus of catching up with @afacerov on his birthday! #OttTransitChallenge #KanataNorth pic.twitter.com/WWwK0N7Vqr
