Tornado-damaged cafe re-opens Saturday

By Jason White

A cafe that was severely affected by the tornadoes is re-opening for the first time since the storm.

Dunrobin's Heart and Soul Cafe has announced it will re-open regular hours, starting Saturday morning.

A gift shop next door to the cafe was destroyed by one of the six tornadoes that hit Ottawa and Gatineau, September 21. The cafe sustained some damage, but also lost what management calls an “astronomical” amount of food due to the ensuing power outages.

The cafe's owners say the tornado damage is mostly cleaned up but that there is a long way to go, and ask for customers' patience and understanding.
