Volleyball Canada 2022 Nationals coming to Ottawa

By Alex Black

Volleyball Canada is ready to make its comeback, with a stop planned in Ottawa.

The 2022 national championships will kick off in Ottawa, at Carleton University, on May 5, after being cancelled for the last two years in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It's been a challenging time for sport,” said Sandra de Graaff, director of domestic events. “We're looking forward to celebrating the sport of volleyball in 2022 and bringing together the volleyball community in one of Canada's premier amateur sport competitions.”

Ottawa and Halifax will both host boys and girls, with Richmond holding the girls' tournament and Burnaby seeing the boys in action.

Volleyball Canada says it will continue to follow provincial COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines, if there are any in place at the time.
