Atlético Ottawa suffers 1-0 loss to Pacific FC

By CityNews Ottawa

It wasn't the outcome the team wanted after a return to TD Place on Saturday, May 7 in front of 3,555 adoring fans for some afternoon Canadian Premier League (CPL) soccer action.

It was the first time since Atlético Ottawa's season opener that the team fielded a full roster, but on this day, the team fell 1-0 in heartbreaking fashion to Pacific FC.

Through 90 minutes of play, Ottawa mustered 23 shots, 17 of them from inside the box and 11 of which were on target, but couldn't get anything past Pacific FC goalkeeper Callum Irving.

Atlético Ottawa captain Drew Beckie returned from a three game suspension, while forward Carl Haworth played in his first match of the season. Haworth was fighting a nagging injury that kept him off the field.

Ottawa head coach Carlos González will miss the team's next CPL matches as he serves a suspension after having been sent off by the official during yesterday's match.
