Three Ottawa Senators players will play for Canada at the World Championship this month in Finland.

Senators defencemen Thomas Chabot and Nick Holden, along with forward Drake Batherson, were named to Canada’s 24-man roster on Monday for the tournament, which starts Friday.

Winnipeg Jets forwards Adam Lowry and Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson are the other players from Canadian NHL teams on the roster.

Anaheim Ducks forward Max Comtois is the lone returning player from last year’s gold medal-winning team.

Three players from Canada’s Olympic team — goalie Matt Tomkins and forwards Eric O’Dell and Kent Johnson — will return to the national squad.

Canada faces the United States in an exhibition game on Wednesday before opening the tournament on Friday against Germany.

Ottawa Senators head coach D.J. Smith is an assistant coach for Team Canada. The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 13 until May 29.

Former Ottawa 67's head coach and current bench boss of the Arizona Coyotes André Tourigny is also serving as an assistant coach for the team. Tourigny spent some time as an assistant coach with the Ottawa Senators.
