The Redblacks' first home game is set for June 11 against Montreal.

LaPolice hopes to coach his first game with the Redblacks next year after the 2020 CFL season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ottawa Senators, who were already going back to their classic two-dimensional centurion logo, went with a red version of the team's uniforms from their inaugural 1992-93 campaign.

"I suspect (the OHL) will have to modify their play until there is a vaccine or at the very least public health clearance that we have contained the spread of COVID-19," said the minister of sports and tourism.

Given the state of the pandemic, Run Ottawa Executive Director Ian Fraser says, "I'm not sure how you can make the extrapolation to toeing the line with 35,000 of your best friends seven months down the road from now."

The OHL says its teams will play mostly within their geographic regions and just eight of them will make the 2021 playoffs.

The Senators are Galchenyuk's fifth team since June 2018.

In 2018-19, he set career-highs in assists (39), points (48) and games (81).

Brown has 142 points (59 goals, 83 assists) and 68 penalty minutes over 324 career NHL games with Toronto and Ottawa. 

The Senators have just come off a draft in which they acquired two of the top five players in forward Tim Stuetzle (third overall) and defenceman Jake Sanderson (fifth overall), to go with a waft of talent at the AHL and NCAA level, plus the recent signings that stemmed from free agency and trade.
