14-year-old dirt bike rider dead, another teen injured in crash south of Stittsville

Ottawa police say a 14-year-old boy is dead and a 15-year-old is recovering from serious injuries after a van collided with dirt bikes at the intersection of Franktown Road and Munster Road, south of Stittsville.
Officers responded to the crash around 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 18.
According to the investigation, three dirt bike riders were heading north on Munster Road when two of them collided with a vehicle that was heading east on Franktown Road.
Both young riders were transported to hospital. The 15-year-old's injuries are not life-threatening.
The incident remains under investigation. No further details are available at this time.
