A 41-year-old man is being accused of grabbing a young woman who was waiting for a bus, and dragged her into some bushes to sexually assault her.

Ottawa Police Service officials said a 22-year-old woman was at a bus stop near Young Street and Preston Street just before 1 a.m. Saturday, when a man tried to sexually assault her.

The attacker fled when two bystanders chased him off.

He is now facing charges of sexual assault, uttering threats, mischief and breach of probation.

Lagasse is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
