Arrest made in Hintonburg residential break and enter

A police officer and the suspect suffered minor injuries during the arrest.

A 39-year-old man is facing charges, including assault, after a residential  break-in on Wellington Street West in Hintonburg.

Officers responded to a Break and Enter in progress around 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, October 21. Homeowners had called 911 after seeing a strange man inside their house. 

Police were able to arrest the man after a brief struggle. The suspect and an officer suffered minor injuries.

Christopher Andrew Greenwood, of Ottawa, has been charged with:

  • Breaking and Enter and commit an indictable offence
  • Assault with intent to resist or prevent arrest
  • Assault
  • Breach of probation

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
