Arrest made in Salvation Army shelter stabbing

The Ottawa Police Service continues to investigate, while the victim remains in hospital.

One person is in police custody after a stabbing at the Salvation Army shelter on George Street, in the ByWard Market.

Ottawa paramedics told 1310 NEWS, a man was taken to hospital in serious, but stable condition, just before 8 a.m., Wednesday.

The victim's age is not known.

No information has been released about the accused.

The Ottawa Police Service said its investigation into this matter is ongoing.
