Assault and stolen vehicle in South Dundas and Glengarry

Two people are facing charges after an assault with a weapon in South Dundas Township.

Officers responded to a disturbance on Sir James Morris Drive around 3:18 p.m., last Friday.

An investigation showed that an altercation happened between two men and a woman. One of the men and the woman allegedly hit the other man with a weapon and uttered threats. The victim received minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.

Dillon Shaver, 25, of South Dundas was arrested and is charged with assault. He was held in custody pending a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Crystal Wagner, 38, of South Dundas, was arrested and is charged with assault with a weapon, assault and uttering threats.

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 5.

In a separate incident, South Glengarry OPP arrested a man on County Road 2 after an investigation revealed that the 2014 Toyota Tundra he was driving had been stolen from Toronto. 

Philippe Lorquet, 31, of Montreal was arrested and is charged with: 

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

– Fail to comply with conditions of a Recognizance

– Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order

– Obstruct Peace officer

– Personation with intent

– Possession of a controlled substance 

He was held in custody pending a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
