Attempted murder charge laid in fall Billings Bridge Shopping Centre shooting

The Ottawa Police Service has arrested and charged a 27-year-old man on Gillespie Crescent, off Uplands Drive east of Riverside Drive, after a shooting at the Billings Bridge Shopping Centre.
The incident happened on November 21, 2018, and left one man injured.
The OPS' Guns and Gangs Unit executed a search warrant on Gillespie Crescent on Wednesday, April 17. A handgun and ammunition were seized at the home.
Hussein Najdi is facing charges of:
- Use firearm to Commit and Indictable Offence
- Use / Store Firearm carelessly (2 counts)
- Point a firearm
- Possess a weapons Dangerous (3 counts)
- Carry Concealed weapon
- Occupy motor vehicle with a firearm
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
- Discharge firearm with intent to endanger life
- Discharge firearm being reckless as to the life or safety of another person
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a license and registration certification
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a license and registration certificate
Najdi appeared in court Thursday.
