A 72-year-old man is being charged with careless driving after an Upper Ottawa Valley crash which left a 66-year-old woman in hospital.
Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a serious single-vehicle collision in North Algona-Wilberforce Township last Thursday, September 27, around 2:30 p.m.
The car came to rest, on its side, on Snodrifters Road after it left the roadway and struck a tree.
A 66-year-old Laurentian Valley Township woman had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters from the Bonnechere Valley Fire Department and then flown to hospital by ORNGE Air Ambulance to be treated for serious injuries.
The male driver was taken to hospital by paramedics with minor injuries. A 3-year-old female passenger was uninjured.
Ronald Giroux of Laurentian Valley Township, has been charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
