Charges laid after cyclist hit near Carleton U

An Ottawa man is being charged after a hit and run on Bronson Avenue at Sunnyside Avenue.
The Ottawa Police Service said a car ran into a cyclist around 11:15 p.m., Monday, and fled the scene.
The 24-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital by Ottawa Paramedics with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. He remains in hospital.
Loyan Mukhtar Eid, 26, of Ottawa turned himself in to police around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
He is charged with:
– Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident Cause Bodily Harm
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm
– Related Ontario Highway Traffic Act Offences
Mukhtar Eid was released with a future court date.
