Charges laid after police discover meth in Centretown apartment

A search warrant was obtained after police got word that a man was threatening to shoot a woman with a gun.

A 47-year-old Ottawa man is facing drug-related charges after police executed a search warrant at an apartment on Mcleod Street, just west of Bank Street. 

Earlier in the month, Ottawa police began an investigation into a man who had threatened to shoot a woman with a gun. A search warrant was obtained and officers uncovered more than 2.9 lbs (1.3 kg) of illegal methamphetamine, as well as a pellet gun.

Claude A. Tremblay has been charged with:   

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for Trafficking
  • Uttering threats of death or bodily harm

Tremblay is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, September 24.
