Charges laid in thefts from vehicles at Place d’Orleans

A 30-year-old Ottawa man is facing 30 offences following an investigation into thefts from vehicles around the Place d'Orleans Shopping Centre.

An arrest was made April 9 when the Ottawa Police Service's Frontline Directorate (FLD) officers set up in an area where thefts from vehicles were high. 

The K9 Unit did a proactive search and found the suspect inside a vehicle at Place d'Orleans. He was arrested after OPS K9 Trix chased him down.

Adam Randall David Reid, 30, of Ottawa, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (4 counts)
  • Failure to comply with a Recognizance (4 counts)
  • Fraud or Attempted Fraud (11 counts)
  • Use of a Credit Card obtained by an Offence (11 counts)

Reid was also wanted on numerous outstanding warrants. The investigation is ongoing and it is anticipated that more charges will be laid.

He appeared in court on April 9.
