Drugs and weapons seized in search of Russell home

Two Russell men are facing charges after police found guns and drugs in a local house.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police's Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant in Russell on February 13, with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit.

Investigators seized four firearms, ammunition, and a small amounts of oxycodone, as well as hydromorphone pills.   

Celine Onat, 26, was arrested on Wednesday, while Thomas Boyce, 25, was arrested Thursday. Both have been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a substance in schedule 1 (percocet) CDSA section 4(1)
  • Possession of a substance in schedule 1 (hydromorphone) CDSA section 4(1)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm – CC 91(1) (4 counts)
  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – CC 86(1) (4 counts)

Both accused have been released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L'Orignal on March 6.

The OPP have no concerns for public safety at this time.
