Elderly cyclist dead after collision near Cornwall

A 77-year-old man, originally taken to hospital in critical condition, has passed away.

Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers continue to investigate a collision between a passenger vehicle and a cyclist on County Road 2 in Glen Walter, just east of Cornwall.

A 77-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but has succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the vehicle was near Rae Road in Glen Walter at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, when it hit the cyclist.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt in the incident.

A section of County Road 2, between Rae Road and Purcell Road, has been closed to traffic.
