Five arrested in operation targeting local drug dealers

The City of Gatineau Police Service is laying charges against five people after executing search warrants, aimed at ending a local drug trafficking network.

The raids happened on June 29, at about 4:30 a.m. 

The three in Gatineau adresses searched were 147 Rue de Candiac, 80 Glaude St. and the Renaissance Café at 325 Notre Dame St.

The Sûreté du Québec helped with another search in Cayamant.

The transaction resulted in the seizure of:

– 150.4 g of cocaine
– 258.6 g of hashish
– 21 g of marijuana
– 1.4 g of cannabis resin
– One tablet of cocaine
– $10,395 in Canadian funds
– Three electronic scales
– Cell phone
– Pellet gun air rifle
– Crossbow with arrows
– .22 calibre rifle, whose storage was unsafe
– 12-gauge rifle, whose storage was unsafe
– Various ammunition

Police arrested three men aged 55, 38 and 27, and two women aged 49 and 34, all from Gatineau.

They face charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, drug trafficking and careless storage of firearms. Other charges may still be added.

The five individuals were released on a promise to appear in court with various conditions.
