Five charged after downtown Ottawa crash leads to drugs, weapon seizure

The accused range in age, from 20 to 47.

Five people are all facing drug and weapon-related charges after Ottawa police officers turned up drugs and an illegal gun at the scene of the crash on Dalhousie Street at Rideau Street.

Officers responded to the incident on Sunday, September 19, and said one of the parties failed to remain at the scene. The suspect vehicle was found within minutes, a short distance away from the initial incident.

During their investigation, officers discovered a handgun and drugs in one of the vehicles. All five people inside the vehicle were arrested.

Kenny Deville, 20, of Repentigny, Quebec, Maxim Lifshits, 22, of Montreal, Jerry Louis, 22, of Ottawa, Maria Jane Parro, 47, of Ottawa, and Lyndsey-Dawn Porteus, 32, of Carleton Place now face various drug and firearms-related offences.

All are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
