Five people arrested in Orleans drug bust

Five people have been arrested by Ottawa police following an investigation into drug trafficking in the city’s east end.

The Ottawa Police Service's Guns and Gangs Unit executed a warrant in the 100 block of Silvermoon Cres. at the corner of Harvest Valley Avenue in Orleans, it was reported Saturday afternoon.

Evidence seized included a quantity of cocaine, a cocaine press, non-prescription pills, ammunition, Canadian currency and jewellery.

Officers arrested five people in connection to the case:

  • Johnathon Sigouin, 30
  • Houssein Ali, 23

Both men have each been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule 1 substance.

Sigouin also has the added charge of possessing proceeds of crime over $5,000.

  • Emily Burns, 21
  • Joshua Painson, 21
  • Rolla Jabak, 25

The three remaining individuals were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule 1 substance.
