‘Free Candy’ van not a threat

Parents in the Centretown area are breathing a little easier after police tracked down the man with the 'Free Candy' van.
Officers had received calls from parents concerned that the man in the van was trying to lure their children.
Photos of the van circulated through Facebook groups and it was posted to social media site Reddit on Friday.
When police managed to catch up with the owner they learned that he was not responsible for the graffiti and that he is not a threat to the public.
No charges were laid and police said there is no concern for public safety.
The investigation is now closed.
