Gun seized in south Nepean arrest

A 29-year-old is in custody, facing weapons offences.

An Ottawa Police Service take down in the Chapman Mills- Rideau Crest- Davidson Heights neighbourhood has one man facing several weapon-related charges.

Officials received a call of a man with a gun near Woodroffe Avenue and Strandherd Drive around 3:30 p.m. Friday.

One man was arrested and a loaded handgun with ammo was seized from a vehicle.

Abdulaziz Muffareh, 29, of Ottawa will be charged with a number of firearms-related offences including possession of a loaded firearm and occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm.  He is being held for show cause on Saturday.
