Police say an employee of a business made them aware of a possible drug deal happening on their premises, on Monday, September 13, around 3:50 p.m.

Once at the scene, the officers found and arrested a pair of suspects and seized a loaded handgun, drugs and cash.

Nicholas Rogers, 19, of Ottawa and a 17-year-old were charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking
  • Possession proceeds of property obtained by crime

The minor was also charged with various offences related to firearms.

Rogers was released on an undertaking with a condition to appear in court at a later date. The minor is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Ottawa residents are asked to contact police if they suspect someone is carrying an illegal gun or engaging in drug trafficking activities.
