Head-on crash near Kingston kills two

By Mike Vlasveld

Two people are dead after a crash just west of Kingston.

Officers with the Loyalist detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a serious collision on Taylor-Kidd Boulevard at 5:30 a.m., Thursday.

Their investigation showed that a sedan, travelling west on Taylor-Kidd Boulevard, crossed the centre line and collided head-on with an eastbound van.

Taylor-Kidd was closed between County Road 6 and Coronation Blvd for several hours.

The two people, which have now been pronounced dead, were the only ones involved in the collision.

The names of the victims are not available at this time, as officers make notifications to the families of the deceased.

Taylor-Kidd Boulevard has reopened to traffic.
