Head-on Hwy 401 collision sends two to hospital

A 69-year-old man is in critical condition after a crash between a truck and van on Hwy 401, east of Cornwall.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the collision happened around 1 p.m., Wednesday.
Investigators said a truck was travelling westbound on Hwy 401 at kilometre marker 819 in South Glengarry Township, when it entered into the eastbound lanes and struck a van.
Both drivers were transported to the hospital. The 69-year-old was driving the truck. A 49-year-old man, driving the van, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
A section of Hwy 401 was closed to traffic following the incident, but has since been re-opened.
A police investigation is still underway.
