Local arrest made in international investigation

A Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Township man is being connected to an investigation involving numerous indecent and sexually violent phone calls to various people and agencies in Canada and the United States.
Ontario Provincial Police searched two homes in the area on Tuesday after a nine-month multi-jurisdictional investigation in partnership with the United States Capitol Police, US Department of Homeland Security, Brantford Police and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Ryan Munroe, 26-years-old was arrested and charged with:
– Indecent Communications (six counts)
– Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm
– Public Mischief (two counts)
He was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on Wednesday.
