A 37-year-old Ottawa man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving someone posing as an Uber driver downtown.

The Ottawa Police Service said Hissan Hamad turned himself in last Saturday and was charged with two counts of sexual assault, involving two alleged victims.

Investigators added that a second woman came forward Friday, following the release of information, including surveillance images of a suspect at an ATM.

Police still believe there could be other victims.

The original investigation related to an incident early last week, and police said was not connected to previous "fake Uber driver" assaults dating back to December of last year.
